Carmel Valley Residence Brook- Kothlow and Hodgin Architects 2016 Michelle Comeau Landscape Architect
This vintage Brook-Kothlow design from the mid-seventies was adapted to a new site 100 yards from its original location (the original had been demolished). Although there are almost four decades separating the original designing of this house and the Trainer Residence (*see homepage main photos) you will find they share several important design themes. These were the final two projects that George Brook-Kothlow was working on when he passed away in 2012.
Sustainable building features include the passive solar design and the photovoltaic system to make this a zero net energy home. There is also a thirty thousand gallon storage tank to capture the roof water.
