The Trainer residence, on a hundred acre ranch named Sage Ridge in Carmel Valley, was the last residential design of iconic architect George Brook-Kothlow. The pioneering design is unique, ambitious and difficult to label. Typical of Brook-Kothlow is the carefully designed use of natural lighting with its accompanying passive solar gain. Additional sustainable building features include high efficiency energy and lighting systems, 25 KW photovoltaics, roof and grey water recycling system with bio filter, living walls, and native landscaping.
